Accompanying container list of towns and village has title: Album of German snapshots of northern French towns of Albert and Bapaume and nearby villages on Somme and Ancre Rivers in area east and northeast of Amiens, 1914-1916. Prints removed from accompanying original binder (17 x 26 cm) with cartoon pasted on spine with caption: "Bitte recht freundlich".

Prints show images from German occupied areas in northern France. Includes ruins of destroyed towns and villages; churches; houses; public buildings; some of the same areas before the war damage. Also group portraits of German officers; German and French soldiers; cemeteries.
